WordPress .htaccess error on Image Upload

In some cases while tring to upload images of size exceed that of PHP limit wordpress rarely crashes. In such cases we can restore wordpress with a little of redirection rule alteration

Steps

  • connect to your hosting provider with an SSH Client ( preferably pUtty)
  • navigate to your installtion directory
  • Edit .htaccess file over there

remove all content and copy the following code instead

<ifmodule mod_security.c>
<files async-upload.php>
SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off
</files>
</ifmodule>

Now if you set some permalink rule you have to revert first in to default

  • Testrun your wordpress

if everything is perfect go back to permalink and reset your rule as desired
