To change readonly attribute

  • Go to management studio
  • Login as administrator
  • Select database
  • Right click and select properties
  • Select options on left tab and chage readonly option to false on right

in some cases it may not work, showing common errors like insufficient disk space or privilege error,in most of these cases issues came because of network related users privileges

  • Go to the respective files under file system( windows Explorer)
  • Select all dependent files at once
  • Right click to properties
  • Select security tab (ignore warnings)
  • Add users ‘network’, and ‘network services’ and add all privileges
  • Try removing readonly
Now try the Database
