Outlook Express Configuration Failed

For those who configured mails with cPanel and using OutLook , this is a common issue getting message like this

The server found , bit not responding ….

The issue is a clubbed one

1. server side ( Port may blocked)

2. Outlook Express Configuration

System Administrators

Connect to your Server using SSH ( putty) and execute this command as root

 

/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -p tcp -m tcp –dport 587 -j ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -p tcp -m tcp –dport 25 -j ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -p tcp -m tcp –dport 110 -j ACCEPT

These are common Ports in POP Mails (25,587 for SMTP and 110 for POP) , once done come back to your Outlook Express

>> Edit Account >> More Settings >> Advanced (tab)

Give POP Port as 110

SMTP= 587

on Outgoing Server Tab , check “My Outgoing Server requires Authentication”
