when direct copy paste from text file to MS excel with coma separated value its working with columns for each value, but when the text is separated with space or tab all the data get pasted in to single column and there by we cant filter a single column

solution

1.save the file as text file (.txt) and open from Excel

exc1

the opened dialog appers as below

exc2

here dont change the Delimited option , this is to say excel to read file fields with separation as delimiter character , up on Next button wizard shows this screen

exc3

Here we have option to select delimiter character., as we are with tabbed text we need te check tab, same tme we can opt more than one Delimiter character here, Press Next

exc4

The screen will confirm the filtering with column wise formating options on top right

Press Finish

exc5

Dile Opened with columns
